Why Low Calorie Diet Plans Truly Don't Work
Almost all diets are based to some extent on calorie deprivation. These low calorie diet plans simply don't work, because they are predicated upon self-denial. Sooner or later we give into temptation, as it is human nature to simply long for variety when it comes to food. It is also too hard of a sentence to be refused food, as well as it is a natural impulse to fill our tummy.
Mentally and bodily it is too demanding on us as humans to remain hungry or not consume enough food. We penalize ourselves by not getting enough fat or calories or just having one type of food. This can bring on psychological problems and irrational behaviors like bulimia or anorexia.
The most harmful diets for you nutritionally are the ones that coerce you to eat one kind of food only. A good illustration of this was the cabbage soup diet. We were led to believe that eating some magically fat burning blend of cabbage, V8 juice and Lipton Onion Soup Mix combined with eating only bananas one day or just drinking milk another could bring on major weight loss.
This is a great instance of a diet that is based totally on calorie withdrawal - about 800 to 1000 calories a day. Lack of food causes return weight gain, even if you lose a few pounds at first on this type of diet. This is because after denying yourself of the fats, oils and carbs that you long for all day you have a tendency to splurge on them even more.
Another good example is the grapefruit diet, which is mostly all meat, no carbs, grapefruit and black coffee. It is also a diet that is below 1000 calories a day. Any diet that is that low in calories is bound to be futile and it can also make you very sick. All humans must have a mixture of foods to operate well physically.
Think Weight Watchers is the best way to go? It isn't. The challenge with the Weight Watcher's Program is that you are still inhibited in the amound of calories you can consume and that the foods that you are permitted to eat or given to eat are usually too acidic in nature. The result is that your body becomes more exposed to sickness in general, because the body is more susceptible to losing weight and not staying healthy by being in an alkaline state. The pre-packaged food involved with Weight Watchers is not that good for you either.
To keep your body in an alkaline state you need to eat much more healthier foods. This includes the intake of larger quantities of organic vegetables and juices. Locate a diet that is vegetarian in nature or built around the European food pyramid, and you will be in better condition in the long run.
