Be Well Prepared While Going On A Long Journey
If you are planning to go on a long road trip in your automobile, van or RV, then you must be aware of one of the essential car accessories which I have encountered in a long time - the 12v air compressor.
Whether you are planning to take the Great Ocean Road, travel to the Snowy Mountains or cross the Nullabor Plains, it merely requires one flat tyre to end your trip, normally miles away from the nearest town.
While you may have a spare tyre, depending on your age and fitness level, it can be difficult to take out the spare tyre and the jack out of the boot, jack the car up appropriately, loosen the wheel nuts and replace the tyre. It's dirty work at the best of times and can be made much harder trying to do this during the night time.
Wouldn't it be less of a challenge to merely re fill the tyre with air and continue your journey? This enables you to be able to take the car to a garage to get the tyre replaced by a mechanic, or at least let you continue your journey while waiting until day light to make a stop and change it.
There are other ways to re inflate your tyre, like canned air, but these techniques are often not that useful. The most beneficial solution is really to have an air compressor on board to help you plug it in tyre and simply re inflate it. But where would you plug it in?
